Create Your Future
Visual invention, critical reflection, and creative action are the cornerstones of Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Art program. Embracing the creative exploration of both traditional art practices and new media, our diverse student body is prepared to take on the complex challenges of today’s world. We help you cultivate your highest self as an artist or art historian, and prepare you to enter the wide range of creative sectors and professional fields in the workplace.
Unique Opportunities
With access to one of the world’s most vibrant artistic hubs, you will be encouraged to participate in internships. Faculty advisors will work with you to connect you to their professional affiliations, helping you find opportunities suited to your aspirations.
The Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Art Gallery enhances the Art program, allowing you real-world opportunities to showcase your work to students, faculty, and staff, as well as the Lower Manhattan community and visitors from around the world. The Art Gallery was founded with the goal of encouraging personal exploration and critical dialogue for artists and visitors alike.
Success Starts Here
I chose to attend Pace because I adored how much the school focused on what happens after college, rather than solely on what happens inside the classroom. It was one of the first colleges I had ever seen that emphasizes learning outside the classroom, which I strongly believe in.
Undergraduate Programs
Our BA in Art is centered around art and design grounded in a liberal arts education. You can take courses in digital art, graphic design, photography, video production, animation, drawing, painting, sculpture, and art history, allowing you to gain a wide range of experience in the field.
In our BFA in Art, you will be immersed in hands-on courses in a variety of media, building a foundation in studio art, before engaging in comprehensive study in a selected studio area. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the portfolio requirements before applying.
Our Art History BA program takes you through significant periods in art around the world, including Western, Latin American, African, and Asian art history, combining studies of history, theory, and connoisseurship. Classes often capitalize on the city’s vibrant resources with trips to museums, galleries, and archives.
