Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Presents: Basic Mediation Training

Back by popular demand! Haub Law’s Basic Mediation Training introduces participants to the practice of mediation. This 24-hour online course provides participants with an understanding of the skills needed to become a mediator through lectures, discussion, exercises, and simulations.

The training begins with an exploration of alternative dispute resolution options available to parties and goes on to review negotiation theories and strategies that come into play in ADR processes. The training includes an in-depth analysis of the mediation process and the role of the mediator, including how mediators can prepare for mediation, cultivate trust in the process, address ethical and legal issues that may arise, and work to resolve impasse.

Instructor:

Erin E. Gleason Alvarez is Director of the Mediation Practicum and the Amelia A. Gould Representation in Mediation Clinic at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ. She began her career as a litigator and then went on to lead the Global Dispute Resolution Program for a prominent international financial institution. Since 2017, she has also served as a mediator on the AAA, Resolute Systems, and CPR rosters in addition to several court panels.
