After 20 years of service to the New York State judiciary, the Honorable Daniel D. Angiolillo has served as Jurist-in-Residence at Haub Law since the Spring of 2014, teaching classes in Election Law and Judicial Ethics & Decision Making, and guest lecturing for classes in Trial Advocacy, Appellate Advocacy, Matrimonial Law, New York Practice, and Federal Judicial Honors Program. During the last seven years on the bench, Judge Angiolillo served as an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department, with a designation of Senior/Constitutional member of the court by Gov. David A. Paterson in December 2010.

Judge Angiolillo began his judicial career with his November 1993 election to the Westchester County Court, where he presided over a wide range of felony charges, including Murder First Degree. In 2001 he was appointed by Chief Judge Judith Kaye to preside over New York State’s first Integrated Domestic Violence Court, known as the “One Family, One Judge Court.”

Prior to the bench, Judge Angiolillo served seven years as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth H. Lange and six years as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County.

Judge Angiolillo is a frequent lecturer at Continuing Legal Education programs, most recently on Appellate Practice, Judicial Ethics, Domestic Violence, New York Practice, and Health Law/Palliative Care. He has instructed the Appellate and High Court Judges in Ghana, West Africa, on judicial decision making. He also authored a chapter for the Lawyer’s Manual on Domestic Violence, 6^th Edition, 2016, entitled “The Integrated Domestic Violence Court: New York’s Successful Experience.”

Judge Angiolillo presently serves on New York State’s Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, issuing ethics opinions for over 3000 New York State judges. He is also President Emeritus for a New York State not-for-profit devoted to Prader-Willi Syndrome.
