Empowering Change Through Performance
The minor in Theater for Social Justice offers an interdisciplinary course of study that centers on decolonizing and anti-racist pedagogy in the fields of commercial and devised theater and performance studies. Through this coursework, students will gain an understanding of theater’s role in social and political movements, utilize contemporary methodologies in social theory to analyze literature and theatrical performances and develop historical knowledge and context for theater’s role as a driver of social change.
