Admission Information

Incoming First-Year Students

To be considered for the Honors College, incoming first year students must have a minimum high school grade point average of 90, combined SAT scores of 1280 with Critical Reading minimum score of 570 and Math scores of 610, and ACT scores of 27. Students may apply as test optional to be considered for admission within the Pforzheimer Honors College.

Transfer Students (From Pace or Other Universities)

Any Pace student who has completed between 30-48 credits is eligible to apply to the Honors College. Students who transfer from other colleges/universities are also eligible to be reviewed for the Honors College. Please allow at least 3 weeks for a decision. The following application process pertains to transfer students on both the New York City and Westchester campuses:

Internal Transfer Students

Please note that we will no longer be accepting internal transfers for the spring semester.

Requirements to apply

  • Be between 30-48 credits. Do not apply if you have more, we will not read your application.
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Minimum of one semester at Pace

Application Includes

  • Application Form
  • Resume
  • Unofficial Transcript
  • Writing sample: An essay that you submitted in the last year in college for a grade.
  • Letters of Recommendation (see below)
  • Short Answers (see below)|
  • Essay (see below)
  • Interview (this will be scheduled after the initial review of the application)

Letters of Recommendation

  • 1 required (must be from a professor) and 1 optional (can be from employer or staff)
  • Letters of recommendation should be emailed to honors_nyc@pace.edu or honors_plv@pace.edu
  • *It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure their letters are received by the Honors College by the deadline.

Short Answers (minimum 200 words and max 300 words)

  1. How can Honors help you towards your goals?
  2. Reflect on your last year of classes. What did you enjoy, dislike, excel in, struggle with, etc. and why?
  3. What do you hope to get out of your relationship with your Honors advisor?

Essay (minimum 500 words)

  • Using *specific examples* describe how on campus involvement has been important to your time at Pace and how you foresee it being important moving forward?

PLEASE NOTE:

If you are accepted into the Honors College you will:

  • Not receive any additional scholarship
  • The GPA for your current scholarship will increase to a minimum of a 3.3
  • You must complete 6 Honors classes before graduating
  • You must write an Honors Thesis before graduating
  • You must attend Honors Welcome Week (last week in August)
  • Upon conditional acceptance into the Honors College, you will need to meet with your assigned Honors Advisor and work to change your Fall schedule to fit in an Honors class

Failure to do the above will result in removal from the Honors College and loss of your Pace scholarship.

External Transfer Students
