Our innovative Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program for the master鈥檚 prepared family nurse practitioner (FNP), adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP), or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) allows you to accelerate your career trajectory while evolving your current practice. You will graduate more competent, confident, and ready to make a positive impact on the world.

A Flexible Online Degree

  • Online program鈥攖his part-time DNP program includes five synchronous online classes per semester allowing students to fulfill professional and personal commitments while earning their doctorate degree.
  • Two on-campus intensives 鈥 one at the start for program orientation and one at the end where students present their DNP project work.
  • Curriculum meets the essential areas identified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for the DNP.
  • Ability to complete the program in as few as two years (five semesters).

DNP students complete an evidence-based clinical practice improvement project under the mentorship of experienced DNP program faculty members. DNP students also have the opportunity to advocate for health policy changes based on their DNP project work at the local, state, or national levels.

What You Need to Know About Pace's DNP Program

  • Be a graduate of an accredited advanced practice nursing master鈥檚 degree program.
  • Be state certified and board eligible as a family nurse practitioner (FNP), adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP), or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Pace's DNP program has an option for adult-primary care, pediatric, geriatric, and women's health master's prepared nurse practitioners who wish to obtain FNP, AGACNP, or PMHNP certification along with the DNP degree. If you are interested in this option, you will need to meet with the program director who will conduct a gap analysis to determine what additional clinical courses will be required.
  • Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the DNP Admissions Committee.
  • Students must complete the DNP with a total of 1,000 supervised practice hours. The number of supervised master鈥檚 advanced practice hours will be assessed, and if those hours plus the 450 supervised practice hours in the DNP program are less than 1,000 hours, a plan will be made for accepted candidates to complete those hours within the DNP program.
