Grants Management

An institutional resource exclusive to the College of Health Professions is the Center for Strategic Initiatives and Grants, Providing Opportunities for Students and Faculty Professional Development. The Center provides opportunities for faculty to develop their scholarship in education, research, and practice through a variety of partnerships and access to internal and external funding.

The Associate Dean for Grants and Strategic Initiatives and staff have expertise in all stages of grants management and provide comprehensive support to CHP faculty from pre-award to post-award, including identifying grant opportunities, grant writing and budgeting, institutional approvals, grant application submission, award disbursement and expense processing, consultant contracts, regular budget updates, and grant reporting. Staff work closely with the Office of Research and Graduate Education, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, the Office of Public Affairs, and the Office of Finance and Administration in securing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on state and federal grants as well as Foundation grants. The Center contributes substantially to the oversight and accountability of all grants within the CHP, resulting in significant compliance, success, and impact.

Graduate Assistants

The Center supports College of Health Professions faculty though the graduate assistant program, providing project assistance by master’s and doctoral level students who work on faculty teaching, research, and special projects.

Global Opportunities

The Center seeks to foster international scholarship and research initiatives among faculty and professional staff. The Center facilitates opportunities for faculty to teach abroad and to participate in international collaborative research.
