Student cooking in the Teaching Kitchen

Welcome from the Chair

I am pleased to welcome you to the coordinated Master’s Degree Program in Nutrition and Dietetics in the College of Health Professions at the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Pleasantville Campus.

This program is designed to prepare students for a career in nutrition and dietetics as registered dietitians (RD). Our program blends didactic learning with supervised practice to help students meet the knowledge and skill requirements of an RD as defined by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

Our program was built with major nutritional challenges of today’s world in mind—rising rates of overweight and obesity and their related comorbidities; a growing focus on sustainability and local food; an environment replete with unhealthful foods; a culture of convenience that has dented the family meal tradition; and socio-economic inequality that has left many Americans hungry.

Our program focuses on the power of prevention and we believe that by giving students the knowledge and skills to work in these two key areas of nutrition we will be helping to give tomorrow’s RDs ways to help people to eat well and prevent disease.

Our faculty and staff are here to support and assist you throughout the program. We wish you an energetic start to the program and wish you much success in your two years at Pace and in your career as a registered dietitian!

Best wishes for much success,

Jessica Tosto, MS, RDN, CSP, CDN
